Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and [REDORM LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("ReDorm," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using ReDorm you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use ReDorm.
1. What ReDorm is
ReDorm is a platform where verified college students list items and arrange to buy and sell them from each other, usually in person on campus. ReDorm is not a party to any sale. We don't own, inspect, ship, or guarantee any item, and we don't handle payment between students [unless you use our in-app checkout, which is covered in Section 7]. The contract for any sale is between the buyer and the seller.
2. Who can use ReDorm
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must have a valid email address from a participating college or university and keep access to it.
- You must be a current student, faculty, or staff member of that school. [ADJUST if you limit to students only.]
- One account per person. You're responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your login private.
"Verified" on ReDorm means only that an account was confirmed through a school email address. It is not a background check, and it doesn't mean we've confirmed anyone's identity, enrollment status, or trustworthiness.
3. Your content
You own the photos, descriptions, and messages you post. By posting them you give ReDorm a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and distribute that content so the service can work (for example, showing your listing to other students and generating thumbnails). This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies that exist in backups or that other users have already received in messages.
You promise that you own or have the right to use everything you post, that your listings are accurate, and that you'll only list items you actually have and are allowed to sell. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
4. Rules
You may not:
- List or sell alcohol, tobacco or vapes, drugs or drug paraphernalia, weapons, fireworks, prescription medication, or anything illegal to sell where you are
- List or sell counterfeit goods, stolen property, recalled products, or event tickets [ADJUST if you later allow face-value ticket resale in compliance with Pennsylvania law]
- Share exams, graded assignments, answer keys, or anything that violates your school's academic integrity rules
- List services, housing, subleases, or animals
- Post another person's private information, including room numbers, phone numbers, or schedules
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or scam other users, or misrepresent an item's condition
- Use ReDorm to advertise a business, or post the same item repeatedly
- Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the service, or use bots or automated tools
- Create accounts for other people, or with someone else's email
Breaking these rules can result in content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban. We may also report illegal activity to your school or law enforcement.
5. Meeting in person
Most ReDorm transactions happen face to face. Meet in public campus locations, tell a friend where you're going, and inspect items before paying. You are responsible for your own safety and for deciding whether to go through with a sale. If someone makes you uncomfortable, walk away and report them in the app.
6. Payments between students
[Current version: payments happen off-platform.] ReDorm doesn't process payments or hold funds. How you pay each other is between you and the other person, and any dispute about payment or the item is between the two of you. See our Refund Policy.
7. In-app checkout
[Add this section when you launch Stripe. It should cover: that Stripe processes payments under its own terms; the platform fee and when it's charged; when funds are released to sellers; the buyer-protection window; that sellers are responsible for any taxes on their sales; and that ReDorm may issue tax forms as required by law.]
8. Ratings and reviews
You can rate another user only after a transaction with them is marked complete in ReDorm. Reviews must reflect your real experience. Posting fake reviews, reviewing yourself, or offering anything in exchange for a review is prohibited and may be unlawful.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on ReDorm infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at dmca@[YOURDOMAIN] or [MAILING ADDRESS] with: a description of the copyrighted work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact details, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for them, and your physical or electronic signature. We'll remove content in response to valid notices and terminate repeat infringers. [Register this agent with the U.S. Copyright Office before launch.] See also our Copyright / DMCA page.
10. Your school
ReDorm is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college or university, and school names appear only to identify which campus a listing is at. You're still bound by your school's own policies while using ReDorm.
11. Disclaimers
ReDorm is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that listings are accurate, that items are as described, that any user is who they say they are, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ReDorm and its owners, officers, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, property, or data, arising from your use of ReDorm or any transaction or interaction with another user. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some states don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold ReDorm harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, your transactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
14. Dispute resolution
[Attorney decision point: keep or remove this section. Arbitration with a class-action waiver is enforceable in Pennsylvania but has trade-offs.] Before filing any claim, you agree to email legal@[YOURDOMAIN] and try to resolve it informally for 30 days. If that fails, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by [AAA / JAMS] under its consumer rules, not in court, and not as part of a class action. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 14, courts in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms, if your school email is no longer valid, or if we shut down the service. Sections 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use ReDorm after that means you accept the new Terms.
18. Everything else
These Terms plus our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refund Policy are the entire agreement between you and ReDorm. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We can assign these Terms; you can't. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it.
